CLASSICAL MUSIC SEASON
19 JAN — 23 FEB 2016

As every year, Museo ABC collaborates with Fundación Albéniz to organize the sixth classical music series of Entrenotas during the months of January and February. Young musicians who study in the School of Music Reina Sofía and in the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid are supported and invited to form part of the chamber ensembles of the performance in order to show their work to the public and help the widest possible audience understand and enjoy classical music.
Escuela Superior is the most important program of Fundación Albéniz. It is an institution dedicated to promoting music by spreading, teaching, researching and creating. The Foundation started in 1972 when Paloma O’Shea, as the president, founded the Santander International Piano Competition with the aim to help young musicians. Her Majesty Queen Sofia of Spain, Honorary President, gave her name to the School and closely follows the activities.
The importance of Chamber Music in the country’s artistic life and the maturity of the young musicians led Fundación Albéniz to undertake, in 2005, the creation of the International Institute of Chamber Music of Madrid –a specialist graduate school– that works with the Ministry of Culture, the Community, the Madrid City Council and Fundación Caja Madrid. One of the pillars of the School is its intense artistic life, which puts into practice the idea that the stage is the natural extension of the classroom.
