EVA VÁZQUEZ’S WORKSHOP – CONCEPTUAL ILLUSTRATION IN A UN DIGITAL ENVIROMENT

In this 10-session-course, Eva Vázquez will teach the mechanisms and processes required to transform concepts and drawings into meaningful drawings using the computer as a final tool.
It is a course oriented to mental training and focused in creating an image capable of transmitting the right content and tone regardless of the medium in which it will be disclosed; the computer will provide us speed and versatility in the execution. The aim is to foster analysis capabilities and creativity in illustration, each day articles, reflections, subjects or opinions will be drawn and corrected.
The course is intended to anyone who has an interest in the creative process and in illustration as a mean of information and communication. The very nature of the work makes unnecessary any type of artistic skill or professional knowledge of drawing. Nevertheless, you must be familiar with the computer use, because it is the basic and essential workshop tool, as well as with Photoshop or any other drawing program.
Teacher: Eva Vázquez – Madrid, 1970
She studied architecture and cartoon film-making. Then, she created cartoon backgrounds blending both disciplines and subsequently she plunged into illustration as a means to convey ideas. Now, she is engaged in both national and foreign press for newspapers such as El País, Le Courrier International, New York Times or Washington Post, and collaborates in numerous publications and publishing houses worldwide. She combines her work as an illustrator with teaching –giving talks and workshops throughout Spain.
