ENTRENOTAS

CLASSICAL MUSIC SEASON

07 FEB — 14 MAR 2017

Archive

Once more, Museo ABC cooperates with Fundación Albéniz to present the seventh classical music cycle Entrenotas, which takes places during February and March 2017. The guideline: to embrace different groups of cameras and soloists which are being educated in La Escuela Reina Sofía [the Reina Sofía Music School] and the Instituto de Música de Cámara de Madrid [the Camera Music Institute of Madrid]. The goal of the program is to invite young musicians to show their work to the audience and, in addition, bring the classical music closer to the general public of the Museum.

La Escuela Reina Sofía is the most important program of Fundación Albéniz, which is an institution focused on promoting, spreading, teaching, researching and creating music. Paloma O’Shea, President of Fundación Albéniz, set up in 1972 the International Piano Contest in Santander with the intention of helping the young musicians. Her Majesty Queen Sofía gives name to the school and, in her role of Honorary President, closely follows its activities.

The importance of the camera music in the artistic life and in the education of the young musicians brought Fundación Albéniz to create the Instituto de Música de Cámara de Madrid in 2005, which operates as a graduate center, together with the Ministry of Culture and La Comunidad de Madrid. One of the pillars of the School is its intense artistic life, which stands on the idea that the stage is the natural extension of the classroom.
