FABLE ILLUSTRATING ON A NOTEBOOK
14 SEP 2017 — 09 JUN 2018 / 21 SEP 2017 — 07 JUN 2018 /
All the participants will simultaneously work as notebook painters and illustrators at this course. The students will develop their projects from one or more fables freely chosen from the book Minimalario. They will share their work between practical sessions at the MNCN (Museo Nacional de Ciencias Naturales) and study sessions at the Museo ABC. And in each term they will explore very different materials and techniques.
The practical classes with a notebook at the MNCN will be useful to analize drawings and the representation of the different animals. The students will see the characteristics of the animals in detail: their anatomy, volume, colour and texture.
The study session at the Museo ABC is aimed to give the student a space to develop his illustration project from the drawings and notes of his notebooks. We will also share bibliographic references and the Museum will show the students original illustrations from the ABC Collection that will be the starting point to make drawing exercises.
This year we will form two groups. Both will have the same level and will be taught on different Thursdays and Saturdays. Lessons on Thursdays will take place at the Museo ABC and at the MNCN on Saturdays. The differences between the groups A and B are the applied techniques, so one student can register on both courses.
