The Books’ Night

Books are enjoyed every night: just turn the page and start reading, but there is a special Books’ Night in Madrid to celebrate the joy of reading: on Friday April, 26. Bookshops, libraries, cultural institutions and a total of 500 spots in Madrid have programmed extraordinary activities with a common subject: books.

The Museo ABC, with the cooperation of Edelvives, joins the celebration of The Books’ Night with a workshop entitled Fun Fanzine.

A fanzine is an independent and artisan publication of varied content: illustration, poetry, opinion, comic, cinema, music, photography… This workshop is aimed at all illustrators, writers, photographers, poets, critics or anyone interested in expressing his feelings through the art of the autoedition. Come to the Museo ABC at any time between 7 and 9 p. m. and you will publish and share your concerns and experiences! We will learn all the steps of the editing process of a fanzine: creation and choice of images, collage techniques, composition of texts, paper selection, format, structure, imposition, folding, binding, etc. We will work with simple techniques that do not require prior knowledge of layout and design programs. We will use manual procedures to develope our creativity and rescue the handicraft edition. We will provide you with the materials and tools you need to create your own fanzine and help you get the best results.
