29 MAR — 31 MAY 2019
Archive
The course entitled ‘Spring’ is focused on teaching how to draw (using the most diverse techniques of illustration) the land reform of the Manzanares river in Madrid. The course will study how the urban development program has changed the natural landscape of the city causing an explosion in the local fauna and flora. Madrid has been enriched with more than fifty species of birds, hundreds of fish and more than two thousand specimens of trees, both autochthonous and foreign. The pupils will draw the new and regenerated ecosystem formed by flowers and shrubs, trees, birds and fish.
The aim of the workshop is to draw the landscape. The drawing will be compiled to form a classical illustrated encyclopedia that collects the new fauna and flora of Madrid. To this end, both classical and contemporary drawing methodologies will be taught. The classes will take place in the classroom of the Museo ABC but there will also be visits to draw plein-air in Madrid Río.
