6 MONTH WORKSHOP FOR ADULTS

10 OCT 2019 — 19 MAR 2020

Archive

The workshop proposes an open and creative approach to the drawing as a form of registring a printed image with the aid of the printing press used by artists, artesans and engravers. The student will be directed through diverse printing techniques and the later manipulation of the composition to discover new ways of intervention in drawings.

The student will start from a previous sketch which will be printed with the diverses techniques of direct engraving. Afterwards, we will use the artist press that is a machine that offers the possibility to explore different contemporary methods to stamp, print and engrave. The first part of the work will focus on the realization and carving of the linoleum or wood and the second part will include the different stamping techniques by which we shape the image. Stamping with the press or stamping manually.

The classes have a theoretical basis but the essential part will be the practice, enabling students to do personalized work through exercises that will be proposed weekly and complemented by group demonstrations and corrections. No prior knowledge is required in graphic arts techniques, engraving or stamping to perform the course; only the illusion and the desire to learn and experience.

The workshop includes 20 sessions on Thursdays from October 10 2019 to March 19 th 2020.
