It is thought that the 23rd April, 2014 William Shakespeare would have been 450 years old. During 2014 we will hold numerous events in his honor. For his tribute, we have the exhibition Shakespeare: Dance And Delight constituted by 50 illustrations by Pablo Márquez for The Tempest and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. These illustrations of the Utopian Shakespeare’s comedies are stylistically inspired in Andrea Mantegna’s drawings and in Leonardo da Vinci’s illustrations of his studies on botany.

Pablo Márquez (Madrid, 1957) is an artist who is active since the eighties and has worked with various galleries: Moriarty (Madrid), My Name’s Lolita Art (Valencia), Ignacio Várez (Madrid), Esther Montoriol (Barcelona), Fernando Pradilla (Madrid) or Evelyn Botella (Madrid), among others. He has also exhibited in museums such as CAMA (Almería), Museum of Fine Arts-Mercado del Este (Santander), MEIAC (Badajoz), Círculo de Bellas Artes (Madrid), Palacio de la Merced (Córdoba) or Academy of Spain in Rome (Italy).

His work is found in numerous collections of public and private institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Madrid), National Library of Spain (Madrid), Caja Madrid (Madrid), Bank of Spain (Madrid) or Reina Sofía National Art Museum (Madrid).
