Noa Lidor

Doubting Thomas

Noa Lidor (Israel, 1977) was the winner of the first edition of the 2011 Museo ABC Drawing Awards– an initiative of our Museum and the art fair JustMad, which exhibits the winners work and edits its catalog.

Drawing is an essential part of Noa Lidor’s work. Both, in her watercolors and sculptures and in her installations, the drawing is revealed as an extension of the three-dimensional pieces themselves. For instance, the artist creates a drawing of a tank with embedded thimbles in a wall or a drawing made with piles of salt on the surface of a table. This same idea is reflected in the catalogue, where its cover is die-cutted as Braille. The critics in this catalog are signed by Javier Chavarría (artist, professor of the Europea University and curator of the exhibition) and Estelle Lovatt (art critic and BBC announcer).
