ESTEFANÍA MARTÍN SÁENZ

Museo ABC and Fundación Banco Santander have supported for seven years Contemporary Art with the programme Conexiones, which allows the creation of an exhibition project, based on the selection of works from its respective collections. Its 15th Edition presents the work of Estefanía Martín Sáenz (Bilbao, 1982) who has chosen a magnificient still life of Juan de Arellano, belonging to the Colección Banco Santander, and a beautiful cover from the magazine Blanco y Negro, signed by Manuel Escudero, from the Colección ABC.

The plastic universe of Estefanía Martín Sáenz  is eminently feminine. Embroidery, drawings, paintings, prints… With an exquisite taste for materials, shapes and a decorative rhythm. Through her penetrating gaze we see images of decadence and death, as warned by the title: «Luxury and Mourning».
